Cars.com API

The following steps need to be followed to add dealers to Cars.com API

PROCESS FROM THE CARS.COM SIDE
Adding New Dealers:
  • Add dealer & Cars.com ID to the bottom of the list in our shared doc
  • Email apisupport@cars.com with the dealer name and Cars.com ID and request the dealer be added to the API tooL
Removing Cancelled Dealers:
  • Within the Shared Doc, in column D update the Current Customer of LotPop from Yes to No
  • Email apisupport@cars.com with the dealer name and Cars.com ID and request the dealer be removed from API too.

  • Email support line for API 
  • Request for dealerships to be added to the current Cars.com API. Include the following things:
    • Dealership name 
    • Cars.com ID
      • Search google, "dealership name cars.com"
      • Confirm the address listed in HubSpot is what is listed on their Cars.com page
      • Within their Cars.com URL, find the numerical ID 
        • cars.com/dealers/numericalID/dealership-name/
        • example: https://www.cars.com/dealers/114091/bob-ruth-ford/
    • Request format: 
      • Please add the following dealer(s) to the current API:
        • Dealership name - Numerical ID
